Blogger Post Title Changes Color on Post Page

In some of the designer templates, the post titles will have a different appearance in post pages, when compared to the post titles in the homepage. Often, the title's font is smaller and has plain font color. In some templates, the font is completely different.

Why is it so? Well, it is made that way. Nothing is wrong with it. But you can make the post titles in post pages look like the ones in the homepage, easily.

If you're using the old Blogger interface: Go to Dashboard - Design - Edit HTML - Back Up (Download Full Template) -

If you're using the new Blogger interface: Go to Dashboard - Template - Backup/Restore - Download Full Template - Close -  Edit HTML - Proceed -

Find for for the following line: /* Posts ----------------------------------------------- */ - Paste the following directly below it - Save Template:
h3.post-title {
font: $(post.title.font) !important;
color: $(link.color) !important;
}
If you're using Travel Template, use the following code instead:
h3.post-title {
font: $(post.title.font) !important;
color: $(post.title.text.color) !important;
}
The code in place:

That will be all folks. Hope you guys are finding the new Blogger UI shiny and useful. If you need help with anything, use the contact form to get in touch with me. Cheers and God bless.

  4. Hello YoboY! Very useful website you have! I'm trying to play around with my blog and using the dynamic template. I'm wondering if you know a way how to get rid of that pull down menu (where you can choose from the list of formats, i.e. classic, flipcard, magazine etc.). And also how can I make my layout static in flipcard format? Many thanks!!

  5. @EM: I believe this is what you're looking for:

    As for your 2nd question, I'm not quite sure what you meant by 'static'. But if you were looking for ways to make Flipcard view as your default view, you can always do it under Template Designer - Templates.

    Cheers.

    1. The Editor changed, and it might be tougher to find the tag now. But it is still there, assuming you're using one of the designer templates. What template are you using?

    1. Hi Daniyal,

      It's impossible for me to suggest anything by looking at images alone. I'm gonna have to see and inspect your page life to come up with customised CSS suited for your template.

      Cheers.

  15. I successfully changed the post-pages' post titles. I can't figure out how to get the hyperlinked text in the posts in the post-pages to have the font (i.e., colors, underline) that the same text in the respective posts shown on main page.
    I have been reading your Q&A's and am very impressed with your helpfulness.

  16. I can now narrow down my question from pertaining to hyperlinked post-text on post-pages. Everything changed except for keeping the underline associated with "link color."

    1. Hi Dr. Worden. I see you have quite a number of blogs. CSS tweaks might not generally work with all template, so let's have a look at any one single blog. Throw that link at me and I'll be happy to have a look :)

    1. Your post title looks the same both on main page and post page. Could you describe what it is that you're trying to do?

  20. I know this is off topic. But is there any way to change the width of the post title? I mean, can we make the post title appear above the side bars, on top of side bars and show it on full page? Something like Firstpost.

    1. Hi there..

      I'm not sure if I'm picturing this right. Could you point me to an example?

    2. Something like post pages of Firstpost. Eg - http://www.firstpost.com/politics/sheilas-comments-shock-delhi-congress-boost-bjp-hopes-form-govt-1708233.html

    3. I wouldn't go as far to say this is impossible, but it will take some resturcturing of your template. Right now, your sidebars and content page are two neighbouring elements. To get the above done, your sidebar needs to be within your posts.

    4. I don't have any on this at the moment. I'll look into when I get some time but I'm afraid this will be a lengthy and time-taking process, might not get down to it any time soon.

  21. Hi! I was wondering if you could help me out.
    My page is: taiwantraintrails.blogspot.com

    My post title is large and customized in the Home page, but when I click on it to view it as a single post, it changes to a smaller size and a different font.
    What should I do to maintain the same font and size?
